CannonDesign has an exciting opportunity for a Lighting Designer based in our Boston office. This position will be a member of the Lighting Studio, an award winning specialty service offering of our multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for lighting and architectural design, a solid understanding of the architectural design process, and confidence in the role of lead project lighting designer. Primary responsibilities will include the following:
- Design of lighting & lighting control systems; management of junior Studio staff to carry out lighting design directives.
- Preparation and delivery of documents, presentations, and reports from project pursuits through construction administration.
- Engaging with clients and potential clients to promote our Studio and our Firm and develop business opportunities. Initiating ways to improve process, quality and coordination efforts.
As a condition of employment, all CannonDesigners are expected to complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to our internal policies and our Code of Conduct.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor in Lighting Design, Architectural Engineering, Theatrical Design, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design with a Lighting focus. A minimum of 5 years of work experience as an architectural lighting designer. Proficiency in AGI32, Revit, and Adobe creative suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, collaborate with team members, and handle multiple projects.
