EwingCole is seeking a motivated and creative lighting design professional to join our award-winning design studio. We are expanding our national practice from Philadelphia to include a lighting design position in the New York Office, creating an opportunity for an individual seeking project leadership and long term career advancement. We are looking for a talented designer with healthcare experience to join our team!
Potential lighting design candidates shall have experience in the following:
Experience working on healthcare design projects, including renovations and new construction. Individual shall have extensive understanding of lighting design criteria, healthcare guidelines and best practices. A self-starter capable of leading the lighting design on medium to large scale projects, and leading 1-2 person supporting staff on a project. Organized and motivated individual with professional experience working on multiple design projects at one time with overlapping schedules and phases of design. Skilled in completing lighting design calculations using simulation software and supporting less experienced staff in project related tasks. Extensive knowledge/experience in designing lighting control systems including documentation of one line diagrams, details, specification, sequence of operations and integration with other building systems. Experience working in all phases of the design process from early planning through construction administration. Reviewing products and evaluating components, design quality of materials, issues of maintenance, product quality and providing recommendations for projects. Designing within project budget and establishing VE options with an understanding of cost impact (including general mark-ups, labor costs, etc.) for projects. Coordinating with cost estimators and reviewing detailed cost estimates completed during design and bids during construction. Overseeing lighting design coordination with in-house architects and engineers, and other consulting disciplines for RCP coordination, design intent and coordination with project engineering requirements. Leading lighting presentations with clients and project stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Mentoring less experienced lighting design staff with lighting design concepts, project design process, technical expertise, etc. Editing all lighting and lighting control specifications. Reviewing projects and completing documentation utilizing Revit and Autocad, and creating mark-ups for drafting by others.
Job Requirements: 4-year degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design, or Electrical Engineering 7+ years’ experience with at least 4 years’ experience in the healthcare market Lighting Certified (LC) AGI32 or similar lighting simulation software Revit Autocad Microsoft Office Basic computer analysis skills
