Auerbach Glasow is looking for an experienced full or part-time Lighting Designer for April and May with a possible extension to June.
Come join our team in San Francisco for two to three months. You’ll be working on exciting projects already in progress. Some projects are in the Design phase and others are in the Construction phase. You will be developing designs as projects progress, updating documentation, and reviewing submittals.
Our daylight-filled open studio environment promotes our collaborative team-based approach to work. Your fellow lighting designers have a diverse range of backgrounds and enjoy exchanging ideas with our audio-video and theatre designers at our theatre division, Auerbach Pollock Friedlander.
Here are a few of our projects you may have heard of:
Our office is near the base of Telegraph Hill, and a quick walk to North Beach, Chinatown, and historic Jackson Square, where you’ll find some of the oldest buildings in the city. We are a short BART ride away from the East Bay. However, if you prefer working remotely part of your week or most of the time, let’s talk about the possibilities.
You will be using your skills in Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32, and Bluebeam. You’ll engage with light fixture manufacturers and representatives to select products for projects and produce fixture schedules based on design concepts. Your attention to detail and knowledge of luminaires will be well utilized when you review lighting fixture submittals. Bonus points if you have a working knowledge of lighting control systems and know how to write a sequence of operations. You will be working with senior designers or supervising principals to develop designs. Your experiences designing and producing documents for commercial buildings such as libraries, theaters or mixed-use buildings will be useful as a part of our team.
Please be authorized and ready to work in the United States.
So, are you ready to let your talents shine at Auerbach Glasow? If you have what we’re looking for, let us know a little about yourself and enlighten us by sending a letter of interest along with your resume and portfolio to firstname.lastname@example.org.
