Entry to Senior Level --- Mid - Senior position: • Plan, design, and manage architectural lighting design projects • Confer with clients to determine their style preferences, required functions, and budgets. Research products and pricing. • Analyze and review potential design solutions - including lighting fixtures and lighting controls - to ensure technical accuracy and reliability of designs. • Formulate design which is practical, aesthetically appropriate, economically feasible, and which enhances architectural elements and decorative materials and finishes. • Coordinate with other design team members. • Prepare lighting specifications and develop details for projects. • Make client presentations. • Perform focusing and fine-tuning of the installation on site. • Manage the daily operation of specific projects. • Create and revise lighting layouts, details, calculations and specifications of fixtures. Create calculation models to study lighting performance. • Conduct site surveys. Instruct the client on the maintenance and use of their new lighting systems.
Entry – Junior position: • Provide design and technical support for senior design staff in the above tasks; • Design input for specific areas of a project and may be responsible for the management of small projects.
Min. requirements: Entry level: Bachelor’s degree in lighting, interior design, architecture, or related design field; basic knowledge of lighting; eagerness to learn. Mid to Senior level: Master’s in lighting design or related field + min. 1 year of related work experience; desire to grow.
